Bio: Changxiao Cai is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Operations Engineering at the University of Michigan. Prior to this, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pennsylvania. He obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University in 2021, and his B.E. in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University in 2016.
Research: Changxiao Cai’s research lies at the intersection of optimization, statistics, and machine learning. He is interested in developing statistically optimal and computationally efficient procedures for modern large-scale data science problems, and establishing theoretical foundations underlying these approaches.
